Media

(For site administrators.) If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

Only site administrators may log in or post articles.

If you visit our login page (for administrators only), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may, on rare ocasions, include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Data we collect and who we share your data with

The only time we collect data is if you fill out a form for a vocation enquiry, prayer request, oblates enquiry, or a general message or contact form. We then collect your name, email address and the other information you fill out on the form. This information will be forwarded to the relevant person for dealing with the form (e.g., Vocations Director, Oblates Master, etc.) Data will also be stored on the website for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

We do not collect any personal data from visitors who do not send a form. Anonymised data may be collected by cookies for analytical purposes. This data may include IP address, browser version, and location. You can prevent location being collected in your browser privacy settings. At the moment we do not collect such data. We do have a system for collecting information about how many people visit our website. Our current visitor statistics system only collects visitor numbers, the page viewed, and the previous web page (called the referring page). Our visitor statistics do not include IP address, location, or browser type.

Anonymised data may be shared with 3rd-parties for analytical purposes.
