Dom Alexander Bevan

is the son of Peter and Mary Bevan (RIP 2015).

He was born in Surrey and attended St Raphael’s Catholic Church in Kingston. After primary school he attended St George’s College, Weybridge. After school Alexander studied accountancy in London University. It was then that he began to explore his monastic vocation. He visited and was received as a monk at Ealing Abbey in 2000, made his Solemn Profession on Saturday, 4 June 2004 before Abbot Martin Shipperlee and the community and was ordained to the priesthood in 2007.

During studies he gained a Bachelor of Divinity degree with First Class Honours at Heythrop College in 2005. He continued Biblical Studies at St John’s University, Collegeville, USA, gaining a a Master of Arts in February 2007. Since September 2007 he has served in St Benedict’s School, since 2009 as head of theology and more recently as head of chaplaincy and chaplain to Ealing Abbey Choir.

Dom Alexander is studying Biblical Theology at KU Leuven. He was appointed prior on 30 August 2019.
